The first guide to the Museum presented the objects as exhibited in the ‘80s (by gallery and showcase). It was the first synthetic presentation of the Canellopoulos collection by the then Curator Maria Brouskari. Presentation of 239 selected objects from the Byzantine collection of the Museum. They include ceramic and metallic vases, ornaments, coins, wooden ritual objects and textiles, dating from the Early Christian to the Post-Byzantine period, as well as more than 100 icons, dating from the 14th to the 18th century (with special emphasis on the Cretan and the Heptanese Schools of painting).
